Proof-of-Value Report Generator for Consultants

Turn selected engagement evidence into a renewal-grade narrative. Every claim must show its source, contribution boundary, confidence, and caveat.

Built for renewal proof Not a weekly status report Not a QBR Not an unsupported ROI calculator

Evidence workspace

Build the case one bounded claim at a time

The report stays blocked until at least two supported value claims pass the evidence check. Activity can provide context, but activity alone is not proof.

Your data stays in this tab. This tool does not send or save client information.
1. Renewal context
2. Value evidence

Include: supported outcomes, decisions enabled, risks reduced, capability transferred, and reusable assets.

Qualify: joint results, directional observations, or unconfirmed client signals. Unverified or low-confidence claims do not count toward the minimum two.

Exclude: meetings held, tasks completed, hours worked, or unsupported causal and financial claims.

Can this evidence support a renewal narrative?

    What each claim strength means

    LabelRequired supportPermitted wording
    Client-confirmedNamed client confirmation plus a source record“The client confirmed…”
Directly evidencedReliable source and a clear comparison“Records show…”
Jointly producedEvidence plus named client or team contribution“Together, the team and consultant…”

Not yet verifiedObservable signal with an explicit caveat“Early evidence suggests…”

From activity claim to bounded evidence claim

    Weak

“I rebuilt the sales process and drove revenue growth.”

    Bounded

“CRM records show qualified pipeline increased from 18 to 31 opportunities during the engagement. The sales team executed the process; the fractional CRO designed the qualification model and facilitated weekly forecast reviews. Revenue attribution remains unverified.”

    Methodology and limitations

This generator treats proof of value as decision evidence, not persuasive copy. It requires a source, evidence date or period, explicit client-verification state, contribution boundary, confidence, and caveat for each material claim. Financial value also requires a baseline and calculation method.

At least two distinct claims must be verified, bounded, and supported with moderate or high confidence. A complete-looking claim marked not yet verified, low confidence, or attribution not established can appear only as qualified context and does not satisfy the evidence gate.

The tool cannot verify your source records, audit attribution, or determine legal and financial accuracy. Review the generated report with the client. If the evidence is incomplete, record the gap instead of strengthening the wording.

Start with the Client Value Evidence Ledger when the source record is incomplete, and use the 90-Day Retainer Renewal Timeline to choose the right assembly window. For routine progress, blockers, and next steps, use the Weekly Client Status Report Generator. If prior scope changed materially, document it with the Scope Creep Response Pack. When the narrative is defensible, assemble it with terms and decision options in the Retainer Renewal Decision Pack.

    Proof-of-value report FAQ

What is a proof-of-value report for a consultant?

It is a renewal evidence narrative that connects supported changes, decisions, reduced risks, transferred capability, or reusable assets to the consultant's bounded contribution.

How is it different from a status report or QBR?

A status report describes current work. A QBR combines review and planning. A proof-of-value report selects verified evidence specifically to support a renewal decision.

Can I claim ROI if other teams contributed?

Only with a defensible baseline, calculation method, evidence source, and explicit contribution boundary. Joint outcomes should be described as joint outcomes.

What if the client has not confirmed an outcome?

Label it as observed or not yet verified, state the source and caveat, and avoid presenting it as client-confirmed proof.
